Vote for Rex
I’ve worked with Rex as my videographer over several album and tour campaigns now, and it’s always been a total pleasure. Across each campaign his creative brief will usually include the making of several music videos but also fashioning numerous short, punchy conversational or documentary style pieces for social media. He has a very natural and unselfconsciously quirky talent and a great eye for humour and visual detail. As well as being a lovely man he is that rare thing, a multidisciplinarian who is equally in his element when catching spontaneous, fly on the wall style backstage antics, as he is when taking more sustained flights of imaginative fancy. With virtually everything in the world of music and marketing now requiring a visual component, Rex has become a key member of my team and someone who can be relied upon to get the character and style of a piece just right. This reflects his ability to listen, adapt and dial in quickly to what really matters. An important skill in a world of budgets and deadlines.
In a nutshell : ‘Top bloke with a great eye!’
David Gray, multi-platinum musician
Rex is a real pleasure to work with, always wanting to bring his own high creative standards to the client’s project. His great understanding of storytelling, combined with the breadth of his experience and approaches to any project, lead to the work being above what other filmmakers often create. This was seen in every stage of production including pre-production, the shoot itself, editing and his approach to music.

Megalomania deserves praise and exposure.
Tim Robey, Film Critic
Have I ever told you the definition of insanity? Director, Rex Russell, in his latest project Megalomania (2021) seeks to answer just that in a tragic comedy who’s dark humour combined with its classical aesthetic is nothing short of addicting.
From, “Megalomania: A maniac’s paradise” Joey Morris, Overtime Online
Megalomania is a unique and creative film which will keep you bewildered right until the very end.
